A EPS Athinon, Group B

1-0

Holargos Damari Stadium

Attendance 200

Entry €5

Kick-Off 15:00

Holargos remain undefeated so far and are leading the standings. Today, they’re facing Irakleio, a north-side team sitting just above the middle of the table.

The weather is dull and grey; it looks like it could rain at any moment. Holargos are playing a home game away from home for the second time this season due to maintenance works. But they didn’t have to go far. The Damari Stadium is only a short walk away from the Marc Marceau Stadium. It is primarily used by Aris Holargou, the other team from the neighbourhood. It’s an old-school ground featuring a track and low concrete stands, which don’t offer the best view of the game and contribute to a somewhat distant atmosphere. Still, I was happy to tick it off my list.

The noise from the home fans was just as good as always. The drum, chants, and flares helped break the cold atmosphere and pushed the team to another gutsy performance. Holargos’ beloved number 7 scored the decisive goal and led the way for warm celebrations after the final whistle.
